Sheboygan, Wisconsin was founded in 1846 and has a long history of German culture. During its beginnings Sheboygan was primarily German. The Germans have a mythical beast that followed them to the Americas. His name is Krampus. He deals with all the bad children around Christmas time that Santa ignores. The Krampus' were one of the four original teams in 1924. The Krampus name is an interesting one- The German folklore is the first reason for the name of the team. The second is L Ron Hoover, a local pilot around those parts, flew over Sheboygan on his way to Chicago and looked down on beloved town and at first glance noticed the Sheboygan river and port where it lets out into Lake Michigan resembles a devil's tail. The Krampus' have famously been that "bad team" because of their mascot. "The Krampus isn't a bad guy, he just has a bad job" the residents say. They play in the Winterland Arena located at the base of the devil's tail from an ariel view.
